We asked Plant Sale Committee Members what some of their favorite plants are from this year’s sale. Check out the plants we look forward to offering at our sale this year.

For gorgeous color in the shade, nothing beats a potted Begonia ‘Jurassic Pink Splash’. It can offer year-round beauty because the plant will winter over indoors. It does die back and lose some leaves, but when nighttime temperatures are above 50 degrees, return it to the semi-shade garden to flourish another season.
Juncus ‘Blue Dart ColorGrass’ is so unique. It is hardy in our zone, can grow to 12-18” tall and 9-12” wide, prefers wet to moist soil, and has a distinctive blue cast. Plant it in a standalone container to manage the moisture needs. Use it as a focal point surrounded by other ornamentals. Since it is hardy in our zone, remove it from the pot at the end of the season, plant it in a nearby spot, but do not let it dry out while dormant.
Carex ‘Amazon Mist’ offers a soothing, soft cascading mound of silver green foliage that sways in the breeze. Use it as a calming specimen plant alone in a container that can be moved as groupings change throughout the season. Place it near the door surrounded by a complementary collection of ornamentals, and take a deep breath as you pass by, going about your day.
Vinca ‘Tattoo Black Cherry’ has a one-of-a-kind look to it. The captivating blooms appear inked with shades of cherry-red, deep purple, and black. It teams well with the silver foliage of Dusty Miller ‘Silverdust’. Drought-tolerant and easy care, this combo is quite striking.

When guests come through my side gate, they are met with my lovely, colorful lantana garden. These charming, low-growing, and hardy plants are great for landscapes, containers, and hanging baskets. They bloom from spring thru late autumn.
