We are very excited to share our first in-person event of 2023! Limited seats are available on Sunday, January 29 for the upcoming Seed Sowing Lecture. In addition, we are offering our first-ever Seed Swap following the lecture. Refreshments will be served. Details are below!
Our Seed Sowing Lecture will be led by Debbie Kong. Debbie is a Certified Master Gardener and Master Composter via the UIC Extension Master Gardener program. She obtained her Jr. Master Gardener Certification from 4-H Texas A&M University and she is a Certified Permaculture Designer from the Resiliency Institute. She has contributed over 425+ hours to teaching and volunteering for local gardening communities and developed garden programs at the Garfield Park Conservatory, aquaponics at The Plant, and local community gardens and schools.

Join us at the Oak Park Conservatory on National Seed Swap Day to honor the great U.S. tradition of swapping seeds with neighbors. Browse an incredible selection of herbs, vegetables, annual and perennial/native seeds. We will have Master Gardeners on hand to guide you. Please label your seed donations with the variety, source, and year when possible. We are grateful to our partners who donated seeds to support this event thus far:
- High Mowing Seeds, Baker Creek, Ball Seeds, Red Stem Natives, Hudson Valley Seed Company, Botanical Interests, and Victory Seeds
Registration for just the 10 am Seed Swap (without the lecture) is not required. Please check in at the table in the Lobby of the Oak Park Conservatory, drop off your seeds, and later begin to select your new seeds.
